Replacement of I-10E Welcome Center
Our firm was chosen to design and produce Construction Documents for a replacement of the Welcome Center at the Alabama/ Mississippi state line on I-10 E by the Alabama Department of Transporation. The scope was to transform Alabama's image when entering the state through the surrounding grounds (landscaping, parking lots and picnic pavilions) that highlight the local architecture and to create an atomoshphere that make visitors excited to be in Alabama. The exterior contains a lighthouse element that extends into the interior of the building, letting visitors see up into the structure. The building's exterior walls are inlaid with sculptured brick that replicates the natural seascape. Access to the facility is through wide vistas and verandas to display that southern hospitality. The building's floor allows vistiors to feel as if they are in the Gulf of Mexico with native fish and sea creatures inlaid into the terrazzo.
Gateway Park
Our firm had the pleasure of designing and providing full architectural services for the main building components at the new Gateway Park for the City of Montgomery. The park is 184 acres and contains a small lake for fishing and water skiing exhibitions, picnic areas with pavilions, baseball fields, playgrounds, and multi-purpose fields. The park also contains a 9-hole, par-3 golf course.
The clubhouse is a two-story 12,000 square foot building with golf storage and maintenance on the botom level and a snack bar, golf pro shop, rest rooms with showers and lockers, and large deck areas around the entire building.
The Lodge is a one-story 11,700 square foot building that includes a warming kitchen, large meeting room, wet bar area, with large deck areas that surround the entire building.
Fred Shuttlesworth Dining Hall
Our firm partnered with Barginer Davis Sims Architects to transform the C.J. Dunn Areana into the dining hall for the Alabama State University. An addittion increased the size of the arena to 39,000 square feet, and major renovations included adding a food court, full kitchen, restrooms, faculty dining room, and main dining room. A new brick exterior, windows and doors, and a new roof are some of the exterior renovations.
Montgomery County Sheriff Maintenance Shop
Our firm had the pleasure of designing the new Montgomery County Sheriff Maintenance Shop in Montgomery, AL. Full architectural and engineering services were provided in this project. The work included a new 13,203 g.s.f pre-engineered metal building frame with metal building screw down roof with metal building insulation, mechanical and plumbing systems, with metal building screw down roof with metal building insulation, mechanical and plumbing systems extensions and connections to electrical, installation of emergency generator and related work, as required to complete the facility for occupancy as a Vehicular Maintenance Facility.
Alabama Department of Transportation 2nd Division Salt Brine Facility
Our firm provided full architectural and engineering services to design a salt brine facility in Tuscumbia, AL.
the project consisted of site work and a new 12,122 square foot reinforced concrete masonry (low walls) with Pre- Engineered Metal building structure above.
Hicks Hill Fire Station
Our firm was responsible for designing a 2,000 square foot metal fire station in Hayneville, AL. Full architectural and engineering services were provided for this project.
